CIBC welcomes new members to Commercial Banking and Community Development teams

CHICAGO, APRIL 27, 2022 — CIBC today announced new team members in Illinois, Massachusetts, Missouri and New York, reflecting the bank’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its capabilities across key U.S. markets.

Capatides, senior executive vice president and group head, U.S. Region. “By expanding our expertise across CIBC’s 17 specialty banking areas, our ability to deliver the highest-quality client experience is even greater, and remains at the center of all we do.”

Matthew Green is named managing director and group head of the bank’s Equipment Finance team, with 20 years of industry experience. In addition to serving as a liaison between partners and clients and cultivating those relationships, Green leads his team through strategic planning processes and implements new programmatic strategies. Prior to joining CIBC, he led the Equipment Finance business at J.P. Morgan, where he also co-founded the middle market loan syndication group. Green earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from DePaul University.

Brian Murray joins CIBC as managing director and structured finance advisor, bringing over five years of banking experience with him. In this role, he advises on the structuring and execution of leveraged loan debt transactions. Previously, he served as a portfolio manager in Leveraged Finance Credit Solutions at Fifth Third Bank. Murray received a master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University.

Charles Sheridan, who brings over 20 years of industry experience, is named managing director and group head of CIBC’s Junior Debt Lending & Advisory team. In this role, he develops and executes operating strategy, establishing the product offering, originating credit opportunities, underwriting the credits and managing the Junior Debt loan program. Previously, he served as executive director of the Financial Sponsors Group at J.P. Morgan. Sheridan earned a master of business administration degree from Loyola University in Chicago and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.

Adam Whitehouse joins the bank as managing director, Institutional Real Estate, in Massachusetts and New York, with 20 years of industry experience. In this role, he develops and grows CIBC’s Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) initiative with a focus on corporate credit facilities and asset secured financings. Prior to joining CIBC, Whitehouse was the head of underwriting and portfolio management for TD Bank’s institutional commercial real estate portfolio in the U.S. Whitehouse received a master’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

Miguel Gomez brings over 18 years of industry experience to CIBC as managing director and sales manager on the bank’s Community Development Team. In this role, he leads the relationship managers in all relevant regional offices by providing coaching and training on an ongoing basis in loan structuring, underwriting, and understanding product guidelines. Gomez also manages loan portfolios from a risk perspective. Prior to joining CIBC, he served as a team lead at Wintrust. Gomez earned a master of business administration degree from St. Xavier University and a bachelor’s degree from DeVry University and St. Xavier University.

Jason Moxness is named managing director and Small Business Administration relationship manager in Missouri with nearly 30 years of industry experience. In this role, he focuses on lending within special industry verticals in M&A transactions, as well as the home healthcare industry. Prior to joining CIBC, Moxness was the CEO of BizCapital Network. He earned a bachelor’s degree from University of Nebraska.

Jim Craig joins CIBC’s Healthcare Banking Group as managing director and market lead with over 35 years of industry experience. In this role, he is responsible for developing and managing new relationships for the bank. In the development of these new relationships, Craig will seek to become a trusted advisor and cross sell loan, depository, interest rate protection and private wealth services. Prior to joining the bank, Craig served as the senior healthcare practice leader at BankUnited, N.A. He received a bachelor’s degree from Manhattan College.
