CIBC professional honored with the Harold Washington Cultural Center’s Community Impact Award

CHICAGO, JUNE 1, 2022 — CIBC today announced that Bronzeville Banking Center Manager Sharron Troupe was awarded the Harold Washington Cultural Center’s (HWCC) Community Impact Award. The HWCC strives to preserve and protect African American culture, using performing and media arts to deter at-risk behavior in youth, and Troupe was honored for supporting its mission.

“We are pleased to congratulate Sharron for this great recognition,” said Lakshmi Sundaram, Head of CIBC’s US Retail and Digital Banking Group. “She is not only a positive role model who helps transform the lives of Chicago’s youth, but is also an inspiration to her colleagues and the residents of Bronzeville.”

The HWCC partners with community-based organizations, as well as national and internationally recognized historical arts institutions in content and audience development. It has a 1,000-seat theater, video editing lab, full-service recording studio, computer lab and a two-story cascading atrium exhibition hall and museum, which serve over 25,000 youth who participate in HWCC programs annually.
