CIBC recognized for contributing over 1,000 volunteer hours to Junior Achievement – receives bronze award

CHICAGO, JUNE 21, 2023 — CIBC today announced it proudly accepted a bronze U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award for the 2021-2022 school year from Junior Achievement. This recognition was created by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation for individuals and organizations and is presented to those who contribute a significant amount of time to volunteer service. This is the fifth time CIBC has been recognized by Junior Achievement for their volunteerism. 

“It has been a privilege to work alongside such a dedicated group of individuals who share a passion for making a positive impact in our community,” said Kristen Freund, Managing Director and Group Head at CIBC U.S. “This award is a testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, and I am honored to see our efforts recognized this way.” 

Led by Freund and Managing Director Megan Lingle for more than 10 years, nearly 3,200 CIBC U.S. professionals have partnered with Junior Achievement to provide financial education to over 23,000 students of all ages through the bank’s volunteer program. 

CIBC, along with other volunteer partners, was honored at an award ceremony hosted by Junior Achievement on June 13 in Washington D.C. for their contributions in positively impacting the lives of students.
