Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship Midwest recognizes CIBC with Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award
CHICAGO, JUNE 14, 2022 — CIBC today announced that it has been honored with the Corporate Volunteer of the Year
Award for providing virtual mentorship to the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) students in St. Louis. NFTE is a global educational non-profit focused on bringing the power of entrepreneurship to youth in low-income communities.
“It is a true honor to be recognized for our mentorship efforts,” said Beth Witczak, head of CIBC U.S. Community Development. “CIBC has been a longtime supporter of NFTE, which shares our vision to educate and encourage the youth in our local communities.”
The Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award recognizes NFTE’s corporate partners that both support the organization’s mission and rally their people to volunteer. Corporate volunteers, like CIBC, work with NFTE students and teachers, help them connect programs to the future of work and inform their understanding of the industry in the next generation.
Since 2012, CIBC has partnered with NFTE to educate and encourage entrepreneurship among youth in low-income communities across Chicago and St. Louis. In the past 5 years, the bank has provided over $41,000 in program support and its professionals have spent approximately 164 volunteer hours with students in-person and virtually.
“We appreciate NFTE’s dedication to their students, and look forward to continuing our relationship with them,” said Witczak.
