Lana McKenna is Vice-President, Chief Credit Risk Officer, U.S. She is a member of the U.S. Executive Committee and the Global Leadership Team. McKenna is responsible for the leadership of the U.S. Region’s credit risk management program and team, ensuring alignment with strategic business growth objectives and the U.S. and Enterprise risk profile.

Prior to joining CIBC, McKenna worked at BMO where she spent 24 years managing numerous areas of Risk Management, most recently as Head, U.S. Credit Structuring and Business Risk. In this role she had responsibility for the quality and business risk management of U.S. Commercial Banking, including approval of credit transactions across BMO Commercial Bank U.S., structuring and the integrity of credit granting. McKenna was responsible for direct risk oversight of national practices, including Diversified Industries, Engineering and Construction, Institutional Markets, Mid-Corporate, Treasury Payment Services, Food and Consumer, and CRE. She also lead the centralization of Underwriting Support and Administration and Portfolio Management, creating streamlined processes with technology and data enhancements, and lead multiple acquisition integration teams throughout her career. Prior to these roles, she held positions in Commercial and Corporate Credit as well as Corporate Restructuring and Workout.

McKenna serves on the finance committee of Impact Grants Chicago and is a member of the Tocoqueville Society of United Way of Metro Chicago. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
