Dan Sullivan is the Head of Private, Personal and Digital Banking for CIBC US, where he leads the strategic vision, growth and operational excellence of CIBC’s national Digital Private Bank. In this executive capacity, Dan oversees an integrated platform that delivers sophisticated banking solutions to high-net-worth individuals, families and middle-market companies, leveraging both advanced digital channels and a team of seasoned Private Wealth Bankers. His mandate encompasses end-to-end leadership of client relationship management, product innovation, client service and front-line risk oversight across all personal and digital banking channels, including consumer banking, banking center locations and digital technology solutions.
As a key architect of CIBC’s digital transformation, Dan spearheaded the development and successful launch of CIBC’s market-leading Digital Banking platform in 2025 — a milestone that has elevated the client experience and positioned CIBC as a leader in Digital Private Banking. He is a member of the CIBC Global Leadership Team and the CIBC U.S. Region’s Executive Leadership Team, and serves as Chair of the U.S. Region’s Inclusion Committee and as a member of CIBC’s Global Inclusion Leadership Committee, reflecting his commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion at the highest levels of the organization.
Dan joined CIBC Bank USA, formerly The PrivateBank, in 2008, following a distinguished career at LaSalle Bank/ABN AMRO in Amsterdam, where he was part of the international team and later contributed to the Bank of America acquisition transition team. At Bank of America, he also served as Chief of Staff to the CEO. Upon joining The PrivateBank, Dan was instrumental in the strategic development of CIBC’s personal advisory services, building integrated teams of private bankers and investment advisors to deliver holistic client solutions.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Villanova University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. Dan is deeply engaged in civic and cultural leadership, having completed 18 years of service for the Village of Wilmette, most recently as Village Trustee and member of the Finance, Land Use, Judicial, and Municipal Services Committees. He previously chaired the Zoning Board of Appeals for over five years. Dan is also a dedicated board member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association, the Chicago Civic Consulting Alliance, and the Ireland Funds, Chicago Chapter, and has volunteered as a member of Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke’s Judicial Review Committee.
