Lana McKenna

Lana McKenna is Chief Credit Risk Officer, U.S. Region at CIBC, responsible for leading the U.S. Region’s credit risk management program and team, ensuring alignment with strategic business growth objectives and the U.S. and Enterprise risk profile. Lana is focused on transforming the delivery of credit products driving technology use for data insights, enhancements to process using AI, and contributing to CIBC’s platform and strategic innovation.
With a career spanning over two decades, Lana has held senior leadership roles in risk management, credit structuring, and line of business, and brings a broad perspective, strong client focus, and a disciplined approach to her work. She is committed to continuous improvement, development of talent and culture, and delivering results for clients and the business.
Prior to joining CIBC, Lana served as Head of U.S. Credit Structuring and Business Risk at BMO, where she had direct risk oversight of national practices, and led the centralization and automation of underwriting processes. She also led multiple acquisition and integration teams and has a decade of experience in Corporate Restructuring and Workout.
Lana earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
She is a member of the Board of Directors and Finance Committee for Friends of the Children Chicago, leads the Enrichment Committee for the Avery Coonley School Home School Association, serves on the Finance Committee for Impact Grants Chicago, and is a member of the Tocqueville Society of United Way of Metro Chicago. She is also a lifetime member of the President’s Club of the University of Illinois Foundation, a guest lecturer at Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois, and a benefactor of the West Suburban Humane Society.
